The things that I've mentioned in some parts of the code might be different
from the actual bug, which seems to point to either the way GStreamer is
utilized or in GStreamer itself. The code might be odd, but most of the time it
seems to work: it is a situation where many short samples are triggered one
after another that seems to manifest the actual hang.
