Interesting, if I'm able to reproduce that with debian libxml2 2.7.8. However if I build it from git (currently it's 2.9.1) I get a different crash, and it seems that problematic code is execute in this case. What's you lib version?
I noticed something similar. I can reproduce this on Fedora, but not my gentoo machine, which as libxml2-2.9.0.
Not sure what version my Fedora laptop has, off hand.
