All OS X applications do show all the folders. An XP VM running on VMWare
Fusion with OS X system as network share shows all the folders.
Just as Wine shows all the folders if you browse / instead of Z:\

To my limited knowledge it seems like something is going wrong with SMB share
and the way Wine mounts to hard drive letters.
And the problem is really only with SMB shares, folders on the system's hard
drive or shares mounted via afp all work fine...
