--- Comment #18 from David turbolad995@hotmail.co.uk 2010-07-28 06:19:43 --- Sorry, not been able to run the regression test, I can't work it out at all. :(
Since newbies to Ubuntu/Linux like myself learn of Wine to run their favourite Windows programs and games, I think we could save a lot of time and aggro if Wine had a "debug" mode included with the program. For example, in Ubuntu, if you click Applications > Wine and in there include a debug mode which collects the information that the developers of Wine are asking users to provide in these bug reports, it would save users providing incomplete or wrong information. It would save the Wine developers a LOT of time trying to track the problem by running regression tests etc and in cases like this, not being able to reproduce the problem the user is experiencing.
I'm sure users of Windows XP and later know that if something goes wrong, you get a box asking you to send the information to Microsoft. If Wine could implement something similar, the Wine developers would get the bug reports and regression tests without expecting newbies (like myself) to follow some very complicated instructions.
Sorry I've not been able to help no more. My screenshot is the best I can do in order to prove there is some glitch, but it doesn't stop me from liking Wine and appreciating the massive amount of work that goes into developing Wine.
