Thank you for the test. I'd like to see more, but this already tells a lot.

One thing about the bw_ping.pl script. There are really more timeouts than
shown on the graph, because every time timeout occurs, the ping command will
block the script longer. (That script was a quick hack I had to write to do
something last year)
Maybe I should look into rewriting it with python to use threading to overcome
this problem...
