Since I'm running OSX, the apt-get command was not available. I tried to
install git with homebrew but there was an error. After taking a look with
"brew doctor" there were 8+ errors that were beyond my scope. Some of them
involved updating Mono and XQuartz and others involved unsupported libraries.
The regression test is a bit of a pain to set up and it's very difficult to
narrow down what exactly stopped "git init" from executing.

Maybe I'm missing something here? Or maybe it's my system?
