I would definitely say that the problem is not related to the mouse but it's a
graphics (OpenGL?) issue. If you use the keyboard to select all (Ctrl + A) the
problem is the same, the selection will not appear until you perform some other
action, such as changing the view by using the keyboard to access the menu
item. So it has nothing to do with the input device used.
