[Bug 22597] Game crashes at startup when resolution is set higher than 640x480

Confirmed in 1.2-rc1.

Finally got an Ati card, an old one (Radeon X550), I could only use the free
driver. So I tried these games in the following, clean room environments:

Ubuntu 10.04 (Gnome), Nvidia Geforce 8800 GS, proprietary driver
Ubuntu 10.04 (Gnome), Ati Radeon X550, free driver
Mandriva One 2010 (KDE), Nvidia Geforce 8800 GS, proprietary driver
Mandriva One 2010 (KDE), Ati Radeon X550, free driver

The bug is still there. I will try soon with a newer Ati card, so I can use the
proprietary driver.
