--- Comment #14 from Kai Blaschke webmaster@thw-theorie.de 2009-07-07 09:47:15 --- I played around a bit with winedbg to get a minidump or stack trace, but it's rather hard to achieve. EVE uses a loader process (EVE.exe, it displays the splash screen), which in turn loads the EVE client itself (ExeFile.exe). To debug EVE itself, run the client directly using:
winedbg "X:\path\to\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe" /nosplash /noconsole
While entering the game, winedbg spits out hundreds of "C++ first chance exceptions", and breaks the execution. Enter "pass", and keep pressing the enter key. After a while, the game continues as usual. To get rid of excess "pass" commands, stop EVE using ctrl-c, and enter "cont". Otherwise, the program will terminate when it really crashes, and there is no chance of creating a minidump.
Play until EVE crashes, and the debugger will let you create a minidump. I have attached the register dump, backtrace and the respective minidump.
