But if it is so, it is likely that apps which require Vista won't work properly in wine just because it shows OS type 'Vista'. So there's really no point of showing Vista to them. It will be useful only when wine supports Vista functionality.
Right, that's why you shouldn't change the Windows version reported by Wine on a whim, and the bug severity clearly shows the importance of this bug.
