------- Additional Comments From a.hurst@shef.ac.uk 2007-06-06 06:04 ------- The virtual desktop can be at any resolution, and thief succcessfully changes it to 640x480 on startup.
Now 640x480 is not one of the modes listed in my xorg.conf
If I add 640x480 to the list
Subsection "Display" Depth 24 Modes "640x480" "1024x768" "800x600" ViewPort 0 0 EndSubsection
thief still does not start: X's screen size is still set to largest value in that list, even though the window (what the monitor shows) is a 640x480 corner of this - which may be moved around by nudging edges with mouse pointer.
If I set the list to include 640x480 alone
Subsection "Display" Depth 24 Modes "640x480" ViewPort 0 0 EndSubsection
then thief starts no problem.
