The first cause of the crash is that after calling GetModuleHandle the program
calls ExitProcess with a 0xfeedface exit code. From
http://www.woodmann.cjb.net/forum/showthread.php?t=9530 it seems that this
means that SafeCast detected a debugger - probably it didn't like the kernel32
image. It seems that the SafeCast in Photoshop CS retail is more strict than in
the CS2 Trial.
