During gameplay, parts of the UI are either invisible or black, and the mouse cursor is partly invisible.
I think I see this, but without a screenshot on windows to compare, I'm not sure. The bottom part of the UI is mostly black, and I see outlines of what looks like buttons for the UI.
Windows 8 users can only play this game using WineD3D. Without WineD3D it lags to an unplayable degree. No other fixes are available and support has been abandoned for this title.
Have you tested this under wine at all? Or only on windows with wined3d?
The installer from http://www.spellbound.de/files/demos/Robin_Hood/Demo2/Setup_us.exe
austin@aw25 ~ $ sha1sum Setup_us.exe 13dca048143a64de18f85638c77a246c8561b880 Setup_us.exe austin@aw25 ~ $ du -h Setup_us.exe 81M Setup_us.exe austin@aw25 ~ $ wine --version wine-1.7.23
installs and runs without a problem for me in 1.7.23. Your terminal output indicates a broken wineprefix (or you maybe set dmusic to native without copying one in).
