My catalog is ~200 MB (~10000 images) and I don't have such issue with wine
1.7.21.

You could first try to patch wine 1.7.11 with these 5 patches, or you could
also try to upgrade to the recent 1.7.24 version (I didn't test it).

Perhaps, the problem is in your catalog, I don't know if there exist some way
to repair and clean an LR catalog?
