--- Comment #2 from Rounak Singh rounaksingh17@gmail.com --- Hi Rosanne,
In my edition of Office 2010 the dialog for saving as a PDF does not have a "Publish" button; the button is marked "Save". The corresponding dialog in Office 2007 does say "Publish" on the button. Are you sure you are using Office 2010 and not Office 2007?
Actually there are two or more ways to save a pdf on MS word. one method you did(Save As), other method is to open File>Save & Send>"Create PDF/XPS Document" under FileType. With this method, you will get same dialog box with a "Publish" button instead of "Save".
Neither version of Office needs native msxml6. Please retest in a clean wineprefix.
I can't reproduce the problem in either Office 2007 or 2010. Tested in 1.7.33.
I tried again with Wine1.7.33 and new wine prefix(No native dll). Re-installed Ms-Word 2010. Then tried to save a pdf. It saved. For normal setting, word is creating pdfs.
However, when I changed the "options" from dialog box of save pdf(where we put filename), it again says "File not found." Open File>Save As. Change the "save as type" to pdf. Click on Options: select ISO19005-1 (PDF/A) options and click OK. Then click on save or publish. There is the error.
I am sorry I should have given full details before. Actually I was doing random testing. So, I did not understand what happened when I posted the bug. But I know now.
There is one or two more bugs. 1)(I think related to this bug)Try sending a file as pdf. Go to File>Save & Send>Send using Email>Send as pdf. Same "File not found" dialog box appears.
2)(About this, I am not sure what happens when using Word on Windows, please confirm) clicking other "Send & Save" options like "send as attachment" opens Thunderbird compose message dialog box, but attaches nothing. shouldn't Word attach the file too??? (I think, in linux, you will need an email program on your computer. with signed on to some email account.)
Regards.
