I should've noted that I really doubt this is any sort of regression - this
started for me when the CoH folks released the last big update (Issue 13) a
couple months ago which seemingly made a number of under the hood changes
(water effects stopped working in wine at the same time, the keyboard issues
listed in another bug got better (but not fixed), etc).  So it seems they've
started doing some different stuff with their code.
