--- Comment #68 from Caladan a.vankaam@chello.nl 2008-07-16 13:54:46 --- okay some test indications:
- I did the install as you suggested on the codemaster forums, and as I posted above the results looked good, however I have an application which I still have not found a good linux alternative for and it gave me some errors on ws2_32.dll, and no that application had no special settings in the registry.
Anyways I placed the original ws2_32.dll back (2.4k) and placed yours in the lotro directory. registry settings still the same (using winxp as that seems to works better in window mode)
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\AppDefaults]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\AppDefaults\lotroclient.exe] "Version"="winxp"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\AppDefaults\lotroclient.exe\DllOverrides] "ws2_32"="native"
The results are identical, you see the package loss ingame but no more lag, well done :)
I would prefer it being build into wine but if that is not accepted I will stick with the ws2_32.dll in the lotro directory this not conflicting with other programs.
