Sorry, it seems I spoke too soon.
I had while testing seen a message claiming allocation failure, and I assumed this would be present in the attached log; however it is not, and checking available memory through ssh seems to show normal memory usage. On the other hand, something is taking up 100% of one processor.
Some interesting dmesg output as well, attached here.
