Jeff, probably not because I'm not sure where I would do so, or what it means.
In your opengl settings, eg, nvidia-control-panel or similar for ati. Limits the number of frames rendered to the refresh rate of your display. This stops excess frames from being rendered and can reduce the amount of cpu used.
