I'm not sure how that would help you; there are no game specific entries in the
registry. It's always a good idea to create a new wineprefix and reinstall the
game to see if the problem is still reproducible after a clean install.

I have the default WinXp setting, but now I also tried everything from Win95 to
Seven: the buttons did worked with any of these settings.
