I certainly do not have the time to do one. However, it seems that I've narrowed down the problem to d3d.dll. When replaced with a native version, the error message changes to: "No useful screenmodes found or not correct DirectX version. Aborting.".
Meant d3d9.dll. I'm also currently installing DirectX 9 on a separate wineprefix through winetricks, I'll see if this helps.
