[Bug 38665] Toontown Rewritten Launcher under Wine/FreeBSD gives "ValueError: Empty certificate data"

To clarify, this is an online game. In the past, it has worked under Wine, so
it's older version has worked in the past but doesn't now, after they made
changes to their server configuration.

And the newer version gives the "Empty Certificate data". This problem isn't
just related to Toontown Rewritten. I found another website where the same
error has occurred as well with another application under Wine:

It seems to be an error with Wine, Python, and the so-called "environment".

Is there a solution/workaround to this?
