The bug is still present in Might and Magic VIII, in wine-1.7.11, using the
FOSS radeon driver of Linux 3.12.9

Note for the screenshots uploaded by Dmitry: the large blotch (like on his MM7
cap) appears in D3D accelerated mode, the small, non-transparent blotch (like
on his MM8 cap) appears in software 3D mode.
