The problem also happens in 64-bit Diablo 3. The 64-bit version has a frame rate of only about 1 FPS, so it's unplayable, but this mouse-down problem is easy to test, and it does happen.
I've also tried using a 32-bit wine prefix. This does not help; the problem still happens.
