Sorry, but at the moment I'm not capable to run a regression test.
But I want to give as many information as possible.

As I see it now, it is not a pure regression problem. The problem is also
present in wine 1.4 but significantly less severe as in wine 1.5.

The problem is clearly related to the graphic option "allow the window manager
to control the windows" in "Configure wine". When this option is enabled, the
delays are there, when disabled the delays disappear.
