If I compare opengl/linux with d3d9/windows I need to disable shadows and water reflections, because they are not supported with opengl. I did test with medium water and good shadows, which are reasonable settings.
w/o shadows/water:
linux/d3d9: 81,0 fps linux/opengl: 87,5 fps windows/d3d9: 103,2 fps
Note that opengl is deprecated for the windows version, it is no longer selectable in the interface, but still works with a command line switch. There were already major bugs (map cursor not visible in opengl etc., char screen not working). Additionally it becomes more and more visually unappealing as new effects work only with directx.
