Yes, but every user can easily change it. Instead of patching glibc.
Depends on how hard the performance hit actually is. I didn't try it, but I know that most of the games, I have in Steam, are 32 bit. Most of them are far more resource hungry than LoL.
But I think all this discussion doesn't really help to solve the problem. I'll do some work this weekend on my PKGBUILD and continue to watch this bug more in the background from now.
Big thanks to Andrew Wesie for his work to keep LoL running on Linux! This was a really fast solution to get the game working again!
