What I'd like to know is whether:
- this app never crashed when "wave mapper" (winmm) was configured in any
version of Wine that you can use (0.9.x, 1.0.1,1,1.x,1.2.3, 1.3.x ...);
- this app has always crashed in any version of Wine when DirectSound was
configured;
- this app could once be used with a native dsound.dll.
I don't know any of the "technical" stuff about Wine, except for creating screenshots and uploading attachments with error messages. I'm an "end user" of Wine and I report bugs when I encounter problems with Wine.
I've always used 1by1 Player with the default settings; when I read the comment from Lucas Fialho Zawacki (comment 30) and read about changing the setting to "Wave Mapper", I now use "Wave Mapper" instead of DirectSound because 1by1 works flawlessly with Wave Mapper. The default setting in 1by1 Player after installing is DirectSound - not Wave Mapper.
I don't know if it's possible to install different versions of Wine on Ubuntu. I always get the newer Wine releases from the Update Manager in Ubuntu. I do know that 1by1 Player used to work in older versions of Wine, using the default settings in 1by1.
