If you're not familiar with Eye-Fi, it's an SD card device with 2GB of RAM and a built-in wi-fi adapter. You put it in your digital camera and it automatically uploads new pictures stored on it to your computer via a wi-fi router. The bit I'm using WINE for is the part that receives the pictures and stores them on the PC (or uploads them to a photo-sharing site like FLIKR, which is probably why it's doing things that make you think it's a root-kit...)
