Another is that I have tried to add the same folder into the target library. It
says it's it's working, but it is not filling the target library with anything.
Have checked target library, there is no increase of files or folders.

Interesting faults.

So to recap:

iTunes is producing a dark screen,
adding files to a directory is producing strange results,
Chosen directory gets cancelled and iTunes returns to default taget folder on
