PulseAudio isn't going to go away
ALSA isn't going away, not even on "small" distros like Debian and Gentoo. Remember those anyone? You know, distros that allow you to install what YOU want?
Please, for what's left of this bug's sanity, avoid trolling.
This isn't trolling. This is pointing out that despite all the discussion of "popular" distros (Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSUSE) that have switched to pulse as default, there is still a plethora of other distros that haven't (and likely will not). Debian and Gentoo are probably the most popular distros in this category.
It is an objection to the idea of dropping winealsa for winepulse. Any solution to the problem of Wine and pulse must not detract from current functionality.
