I'm, sorry, what I got from your message is that chmod a+rw (or chmod g+rw)
would only be needed on the first method, so that's why I didn't change my
drive permissions. It seems that chmod g+rw does the trick. Thanks.

I'm not very good at using chmod though. Will chmod 0666 restore my drive to
its original permissions?
