[Bug 36019] Heroes of Might & Magic 2: the screen before a battle turns black for a while

That doesn't help. All I get after clicking "new game" or "credits" is either a
crash or (after a while) a popup telling something along the lines of "pay for
my own author's sweat".

Can someone try on both Mac OS and Linux?
