Hmm yeah, but the initialization tables enable GetDC on P8 surfaces. So this should work :-/
Could WINED3DFMT_FLAG_GETDC get unset or initialization cause WINED3DFMT_P8 to be disabled?
BTW, the game does work in 8-bit color depth mode.
