I'm just trying to understand this stuff but it seems maybe there are two (separate?) issues here, one being the implementation of CreateSwapChainForComposition (in dxgi), and the other being supporting d2d feature level 1.3. It's unclear to me how/whether these relate, but it seems they're the hurdles to supporting JUCE 8. I don't think d3d is a problem here.
