Issue not happening anymore.
After first change for OpenGL 4.5 to Vulkan with maxed out graphics settings, game restarted fine. Once I hit Escape after few mins gameplay, game frozen and had to restart whole system. After the restart, game works w/o issues via Vulkan render.

Still, I was surprised game did not detect OpenGL 4.6 as my render of the system; it is clearly capabale of it and GPU kernel driver as well...
