As an update, I have found that even vkcube is having issues on x11 after the newer NVIDIA drivers came out. This leads me to think that what I am experiencing is likely not a WINE bug, but rather a bug in either x11 or the NVIDIA drivers.
I will try to investigate a little more in the future before commenting here.
