I don't suspect they'll help, but at least they'll eliminate that line of speculation. I have one more hunch, that the app might be using the DNS suffix returned by GetAdaptersAddresses. I'll attach a patch against current git in a sec. (It won't apply on top of the patches I just sent, I'll rebase and resend once my patches get accepted.)
