[Bug 16406] Command & Conquer Renegade is unplayably slow

I installed the game and it is unplayably slow on the following versions:

1.1.10
1.1.9
1.1.8
1.1.7 I stopped at this point, maybe I'll test versions <= 1.1.6 tomorrow.

What's strange is I'm able to play Command & Conquer 3 with all settings maxed
out at 2560x1600 (less the water effects and other gfx that cause rendering
issues). C&C3 uses a newer version of the Renegade engine, so if C&C3 works
then Renegade should also work.
