Summary: Total Overdose: audio issues with 'Diesel Power 3D' sound system Product: Wine Version: 1.3.23 Platform: x86 URL: http://www.gamershell.com/download_10831.shtml OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: gyebro69@gmail.com
The full version of the game offers 3 choices of sound system: Auto, Diesel Power 3D and Directsound.
On my system only Directsound works reliably (music, voices, sound effects).
When either 'Diesel Power 3D' or 'Auto' is selected audio is not playing correctly: - music is popping during the cutscenes - voices are skipping a lot during cutscenes - and most importantly sound effects and voices are missing from the game (only ambient sounds are playing).
The demo version doesn't allow you to change in-game sound system, it always uses Diesel Power 3D.
A plain terminal output doesn't reveal too much, the only relevant lines are: fixme:dsalsa:IDsDriverBufferImpl_SetVolumePan (0x13a300,0x13a738): stub fixme:dsalsa:IDsDriverBufferImpl_SetVolumePan (0x13a600,0x13b1a8): stub
At least the audio issue during the cutscenes can be worked around by setting ALSA to 'emulation' but sound effects and voices are still missing from the game when Diesel Power 3D is used as in-game sound system.
