I have a EEE netbook also running Mint 17.3. Dare I swear here? It has Play on Linux installed and the Wine version is 2.4 for the sandbox in which Screamer runs.

Consult the support channels for whatever third party application you used. Links to some of these outside applications are provided as a convenience on the Third Party Applications page, but they are not supported here. Before seeking help on the forum/mailing list/IRC or filing bugs, reinstall your Windows application using plain Wine.
Your experience is exactly why PlayOnLinux isn't supported on this site... They use hodge podge of undocumented patches... Also makes it frustrating to support users - who think Wine = POL...
