--- Comment #6 from Fritz Meier fritz-stuhr@web.de --- OK, made a few more tests. Each time installing 1.9.13 using http://pastebin.com/eziaq8cm on a freshly booted live USB system.
Ubuntu MATE 16.04 32bit and Linux Mint 17.3 64bit work out of the box.
Lubuntu 16.04 32bit has no sound.
But, installing pulseaudio fixes it immediately.
Another test showed that just setting "Output device" under winecfg -> Audio -> Defaults (without having pulseaudio installed) to the correct output makes sound work perfectly. Even the 3.5s delay I see with 1.3.37 is gone.
BUT, I have 40-50 games that work just fine without setting the "Output device" away from the system default. And with wine 1.3.37 (see bisect) Elasto Mania does not need that either.
It still looks like a wine bug to me. I can probably put a workaround into place now so I don't need 1.3.37 anymore but since this project is a portable gaming stick booting on different systems, I can't just set the output device to one value and be done with it.
If it helps I can attach logs with and without the output device set but I'm waging you can reproduce the problem with a Lubuntu live CD because I see the same on different laptops.
