[Bug 9771] Steam Friends doesn't work

I'm running on Kubuntu 7.04 Feisty x64 right now which I forgot to mention.

Is there any confirmation of anyone working on a fix for this issue?  I've not
dug into it at all because I am not sure completely of the problem but if
anyone could shed more light on the issue of possible things that are causing
the problem, I may be able to come up with some sort of fix.
