The black square cursor was fixed by the game developers in a patch few months ago.
Are there older Versions available which can still be played where the bug occured?

The black square is still there. Since it's an outdated version, you will not get past the login screen.
Did the black rectangle was also shown in the menu?
For me, the gameplay itself was fine, it only manifested in the login screen and garage.

I also cannot enter the game because it freezes on entering password.
It's fixed, it should be committed on monday evening - http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27554
So it's not fixed yet.
