Ok, this was the clue I mistakenly though that wwt setup was finished successfully (it created desktop icons and menus) but the installation stopped over the internal dx setup. So I've followed this guide http://wine-review.blogspot.com/2008/03/directx-90c-march-2008-redistributab... to manually install directx, but I've run wine ./DXSETUP.exe inside wwt Program Files directory where the setup leaves the file. I think it worked.
Now I am able to see the start screen and doing some things... The UI controls are somewhat displaced respect to text and images. The main view is displaced over the upside bar and it has an incorrect size. The constellations are somewhat displayed (vector graphics) but I can't manage to see any image when I select the objects.(See the attachment) The interface updates erratically but seems to respond to the user input.
