And I've covered a possible reason why, even when framerates are capped, that you can still get 100% CPU simply because the game is not able to reach the cap.
Aw god. Don't you understand the simple fact that this happens IN LOGIN SCREEN where there is ABSOLUTELY NO LOAD on the graphics/cpu/whatever. That there is simply NO CAP under linux, it will burn your CPU NO MATTER HOW FAST IT IS, unlike in windows which ON THE EXACT SAME HARDWARE has like 10% cpu use.
Rule of thumb is buy a PC with a fast clocked CPU. Any nVidia GPU with it's own RAM will do the job fine.
Given the above IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW FAST CPU YOU HAVE it is simply a bug in wine's emulation of (whatever the game uses to cap cpu use). And it does not matter on graphics make either as seen from the comments. If you believe otherwise then PLEASE POST A SCREENSHOT with the login screen running and the 'top' utility showing a lot less than 100% cpu core burn.
I'm sorry pun intended. We've been trying to explain nicely all year along.
