With launch parameter "-opengl4" Ether One Redux starts in wine 1.9.18 (Windows 7, 64bit prefix).
The game does start but unfortunately it's impossible to get past the title screen after you press Space.
Apparently, the game is looking for an mfplay.dll file:
LogWindowsMoviePlayer:Warning: Could not load mfplay.dll

That's strange. I do not have that error. I did not try much, but I got past the intro, could walk around and interact with the first button to open the door.
I used this POL script: https://www.playonlinux.com/en/topic-14730-Script_Ether_One_Redux_Steam.html

I got the game to work by using EtherOne.exe from the game's base directory rather than the executable from the Binaries directory :)
