Summary: AvP hangs/crashes with GLSL out of memory. Product: Wine Version: 1.3.0 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: mblackwell1024@gmail.com
While playing the level Research Station in the Marine campaign Wine does a large load of SRGB texture copies, causing d3d to run out of memory. This eventually causes the error "fixme:d3d_shader:shader_glsl_validate_link Program 611 link status invalid. " and then Wine proceeds to dump the current GLSL info to console (among other things).
To note, graphics hardware is a GTX 460 (768).

--- Comment #2 from Jonathan Strander mblackwell1024@gmail.com 2010-08-02 19:42:10 --- Crash disappears if Texture Quality is set to Normal (was previously on High). Didn't test if crash occurs at later checkpoints, but I have a save at the beginning of the Research Station so I can test the whole sequence again later if requested.

--- Comment #3 from butraxz@gmail.com 2013-06-09 11:35:59 CDT --- This has not been updated for over 900 days.
Is this still an issue in 1.6-rc1 or higher or is this abandoned ?

--- Comment #4 from Jonathan Strander mblackwell1024@gmail.com 2013-06-09 15:07:51 CDT --- I'll retest when I have a chance. There was another issue preventing the game from displaying properly some time in the last year or so.

--- Comment #5 from Jonathan Strander mblackwell1024@gmail.com 2013-07-06 21:49:33 CDT --- Hardware changed to GTX 560 Ti at some point in the past, and I no longer have the old card. It seems to be fixed however in Wine 1.6-rc3. All settings maxed and good performance with no crashes.
Marking fixed.
