After Sign in and when it start to load the contact list msn messenger crash. This happen in current git (08/04/2008). I attach the console output.

You need to install msn messenger, log in and close msn messenger, then open it again and this time the messenger will crash, and won't sign in again at least you remove your .wine and reinstall it again.

Hmm, that was sneaky. It seems that you can call that function without a destination pointer, it then sets the length of the buffer, even though it returns an error.
Can you verify the attach patch fixes the crash for you?

The workaround works to make the contact list load but the program will crash later randomly while using it. The problem is located, there's a patch and tests, and also a download link. I get this error immediatly after starting MSN Messenger 7.0 The icon in traybar appears for about 4 seconds, but no windows are displayed. Then, it crashes.
