Summary: Protection ID: Text from 3rd column in protection report not displayed Product: Wine Version: 1.3.19 Platform: x86-64 URL: http://pid.gamecopyworld.com/ProtectionID_v6.4.0.rar OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: asb@asbradbury.org
Created an attachment (id=34490) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=34490) shows lack of text in third column under wine
After scanning a .exe in Protection ID (I'm using 6.4.0) it will add an entry to a table in the 'Protection Report'. Under wine, this is not rendered properly and the text from the third ('Protection') column is not displayed. I attached screenshots to show the difference on wine vs Win7, scanning the same file. To reproduce you just need to click 'Scan->Single file' then select a protected .exe (any .exe from a Steam game for instance), and then click the icon to show the protection report. There are no relevant complaints on the terminal output.
I have confirmed this bug with wine 1.3.19 (from the ubuntu-wine ppa) and a self-built 1.2.3, using a fresh wineprefix.

Does native comctl32 help?
Yes, it works properly with comctl32 installed through winetricks.

--- Comment #4 from Nikolay Sivov bunglehead@gmail.com 2011-05-05 14:05:12 CDT --- I'll take a look then. What do I need to run this? Any exe will show something in that column?

I'll take a look then. What do I need to run this? Any exe will show something in that column?
It needs to hit one of the heuristics, though for me $WINEPREFIX/drive_c/windows/system32/gecko/1.2.0/wine_gecko/nss3.dll will trigger "Possible CD/DVD key or serial check". Steam.dll from an installed copy of steam triggers the same serial check heuristic and so will display something in that column. I'm sure there must be obvious small downloads but they don't come to mind right now.

That'll be enough, thanks.
